Export Development Opportunities in Colombia

On behalf of the energy industry, The Maritimes Energy Association recently completed an Exploratory Business Development Expedition to Barranquilla, Colombia in partnership with the Nova Scotia Department of Energy and Mines and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.

There is a rapidly accelerating offshore sector and with its Deep Water Port and investment in infrastructure, Barranquilla, as a member of the World Energy Cities Partnership, is positioning itself as the Energy Capital of Colombia. The current local offshore supply chain is underdeveloped and presents significant opportunity for Atlantic Canadian expertise to enter the growing market.

Beyond Oil & Gas, the group identified opportunities in Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Education.
