Marine Renewables Canada will be leading a Canadian mission to the US Offshore Wind Conference, taking place this June 10-11 in Boston, MA. This mission is being supported by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the Nova Scotia Department of Energy & Mines.

The purpose of this exploratory mission is to learn more about the US offshore wind market and the opportunities that may exist for Canadian companies. Components of this mission will include:

  • MRC booth in the exhibition – The will be a small booth space to allow visibility and networking and to provide a means for basic company promotion (via company brochures and material at the booth).  The booth will also have a few tables & chairs for meeting space and will be staffed by MRC at all times.
  • Supply Chain Matchmaking/ B2B – This program (called WindLink) is being offered by the Conference organizers and can assist companies to start building relationships, partnerships & joint ventures in US offshore wind.  It is a matchmaking tool that will allow you to schedule a time and place for your business development meetings during the US offshore wind conference. More information can be found HERE
*We will not be contracting a dedicated matchmaker for this event as you will have access to the above program.  The Trade Commissioner in Boston has also agreed to assist our companies where needed.
**Currently you have to be a registered delegate to participate in the WindLink program but we are working with the organizers to also allow exhibitors in case some of you do not want to register for the sessions (it is quite expensive).
  • Canada Workshop/Roundtable – We will work with the conference organizers and the Canadian Trade Commissioner service in Boston to organize a workshop/roundtable with targeted US and international players in the offshore wind industry. The format is still being discussed with the idea being that mission participants will have the opportunity to present to attendees and hear from international and US players in the industry.
