Dr. Wayne Groszko, Applied Energy Research Scientist, Nova Scotia Community College

In Nova Scotia, a large portion of the energy used in buildings provides space heating and hot water. This large heat energy demand is also an opportunity to store energy when it’s available, for later use, to respond to temporal variations in renewable energy supply. The NSCC Applied Energy Research team is working on several research projects with industry partners to develop and test systems for storing and managing heat energy. This presentation will include an overview of the work we are doing in thermal energy storage and a discussion of the potential for thermal energy storage to help match the timing of energy demand with supply.

The OERA webinar series is hosted in Zoom.
