Atlantic Canada and Nova Scotia, in particular, is home to a strong cluster of ocean industries and to ground breaking oceans research. This region is quickly becoming a globally recognised hub of oceans expertise with the potential to be a significant contributor to a number of Global Value Chains associated with the oceans sector, including, but not limited to, Marine Defence, Marine Energy, Marine Observation, Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology, Marine Tourism and Marine Transportation.

 

Halifax hosts the Centre for Ocean Ventures & Entrepreneurship (COVE), The PIER, a sector-focused living lab for maritime transportation and logistics, the globally acclaimed Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO) and a short drive away on the Bay of Fundy you will find the Fundy Ocean Research for Energy (FORCE) which is Canada’s leading research centre for in-stream tidal energy.

 

The H2O Conference has a strong partnership with COVE (Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship and The PIER (Port Innovation, Engagement, and Research)
