In this role, you will:

 

  • Be provided training to preform role of Water Tight Integrity watch keeping
  • Be responsible for the Occupational Health and Safety procedures
  • Monitor the safety of the submarine's berthing arrangements alongside
  • Be responsible for security of the brow gangway and surrounding waters
  • Monitor the work requirements on board for the duty period including any abnormal configurations of systems or equipment
  • Monitor and Coordinate activities of employees under your supervision
  • Act as the On Scene Coordinator (OSC) to brief emergency services on arrival to any incident or emergency
  • Ensure that comprehensive hand over is carried with opposite shift
  • Be responsive to Commissioning Managers for dynamic program delivery requirements in a shipyard waterfront environment
  • Apply practical technical domain knowledge in line with all applicable procedures, codes and standards to produce technical solutions and documentation in support of assigned tasks or projects
  • Identify, communicate, record and manage all applicable technical risks within the scope of an assigned task or project
  • Communicate engineering subjects, issues, solutions, and risks effectively to all stakeholders
  • Plan, monitor, and deliver assigned tasks and projects to the required quality, time, and cost

 

The ideal candidate brings:

 

  • 4+ years’ experience with operations alongside on board marine vessels, Victoria Class Submarine Qualified (AILS)
  • A Diploma of Technology or a Certificate of Technology or equivalent training and experience
  • Comfortable working in a shipyard environment
  • Strong communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Excellent team work skills
  • Strength in multitasking, prioritizing skills and working under pressure
  • Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning that you must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Government of Canada with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security, Controlled Goods and ITAR Clearance
