The Quality team is looking for a highly motivated candidate who will be skilled at working with major project teams to support on time/on quality delivery which meet or exceed customer expectations. This role will report to the Quality Assurance Director and requires an analytical problem-solving approach with strong project management, technical writing and interpersonal skills. Analysis and interpretation of specification and contractual requirements will be critical to the successful candidate. The QE will reduce risk of late/off quality delivery to the customer by working directly with the Project and Build Managers to mitigate known risks as well as any that may arise throughout the project. In some cases, the QE will act as the interface to the customer for SAT and FAT events and some international travel will be required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Work with project teams to conduct advanced project quality planning (eg. Quality Assurance Plan, VCRM, ICDs)
  • Work closely with Project Manager to see the that project plan is executed and tracked
  • Create contingency plans and report on any deviations from the approved Quality Assurance Plans for programs
  • Provide feedback to Project Managers about risks and opportunities for improvement to streamline production
  • Work directly with program teams to deliver the highest quality documentation and systems according to customer specifications
  • Overall responsibility to meet or exceed Contractual Quality Requirements (including flowdown requirements to subcontractors)
  • Customer Quality Interface and reporting
  • Keep a high-level focus to align contractual requirements with manufacturing and development teams
  • Attend all design review meetings and guide team members on programmatic/project best practices
  • System level signoff at FAT, SAT events
  • Act as the Lead within the project team for safety requirements, compliance and support system safety program plan development
  • Mitigate supply chain risks by analysing the robustness of supply and close Non-Conformances in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Systems Engineer to ensure acceptance plans are properly planned and executed
  • Major subcontractor site visits to ensure their project plans support On-Time and On-Quality delivery of major components/systems

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Degree or diploma in engineering or engineering technology
  • 3+ years experience in an engineering/technologist role
  • Project Management Experience
  • Experience developing Program/Project Quality Assurance Plans
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills - conflict resolution, consensus building, ability to gain buy-in from co-workers and staff in various departments/roles
  • Excellent time management
  • Strong technical writing ability
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 compliance standards is desirable
  • Knowledge of AS 9100 standard and/or aerospace manufacturing is an asset
  • Experience conducting Supplier Audits an asset
